The Honda Accord has been a front runner in the automotive industry for decades now. A significant portion of Accord sales are to repeat buyers, who find the sedans both sporty and comfortable. Now they have another reason to love the Honda Accord-it’s still sporty but it’s a bigger, softer midsize sedan with a spacious cabin and the reliability the Honda is famous for. Its clean, fast lines give you no idea of the comfort and style that’s in store for you and your passengers!

Of course, the Accord has such a loyal following because of its performance and low-to-no repair requirements. The 2009 model is no different but you have 3 engine choices; there is a 2.4 liter, 4 cylinder, 177 hp engine in the LX and LX-P models with a 5 speed manual transmission.

Of course, you can opt to get the 5 speed automatic transmission if you prefer. The EX has a 3.5 liter V6, 271 hp. While sedans that have the V6 come with a five-speed automatic you can get a six-speed manual as a no-cost option.

The 2009 Accord doesn’t have jackrabbit acceleration, going from 0-60 in 7.5 seconds but models with the V6 engine have above average fuel economy ratings of 19 city and 29 highway. Four cylinder Accords return 21 mpg city and 30 mpg highway.

The interior is real star of the show, however. Let’s face it, we want to be comfortable when we drive and Honda delivers with a larger than average cabin and one of the biggest rear seats of any family sedan. The Accord isn’t stingy with leg room and the seats are firm enough to support yet soft enough to be easy to settle into.

The centre stack evokes the luxury of sedans like the Infinity M series, with elegant styling that puts cabin controls within easy reach. The controls are logically placed and you’ll quickly learn where everything is. Honda did not skimp on quality materials inside the cabin or the engine in the 2009 Accord, maintaining their reputation for excellence.

About the only area left for Honda to improve is the road noise. The 2009 Accord has a great, smooth ride but could use some noise insulation to block out some highway noise. Other than that minor improvement, the Accord is a spacious and luxurious family sedan that’s comfortable, reliable and very fun to drive!
